Invisible Cities Ascii Book Art Book
Overview
Invisible Cities Quotes That Might Pertain to Design, is a small ascii art book inspired by personal notes and annotations while reading Italo Calvino’s Invisible Cities. Each page highlights a particular quote that felt especially applicable to design philosophy, whether it be about the specific functions of the mind, the structure of our communities, etc., and each are visually paired with designed ascii art corresponding to the quote or narrative.
Once designed digitally, each page was printed, hand stained with coffee and tea, dried, baked, and thread bound to create a uniquely aged and beautifully imperfect 8.5” x 5.5” book.
