The Chair
Interior Object

Overview

Constructed from scrap plywood and 2x4s, the design of The Chair is an exercise in continuity and texture. Inspired by winding roots and natural patterns, the hand-carved divots along the arms have earned it the title of “the stim chair” as anyone who sits cannot help but drag their fingers across the face of the legs. The Chair has a torched finish to help bring out the natural grain patterns in the 2x4s, as well as the imperfections of the plywood, further pursuing the connection back to natural forms.

The Chair was exhibited in a juried art & design exhibition in April, 2026, and is now used as a beloved seat near daily.
